A Study on the Improved Design of the Underwater Emergency Buoyancy Device for Open Diving BellAbstract: With the development of the offshore oil and gas industry, the application of open diving bells has become increasingly widespread. However, in the event of an emergency, the buoyancy device of the open diving bell cannot meet the requirements of rapid emergence from the water, which poses a potential threat to the safety of personnel. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an improved design of the emergency buoyancy device for open diving bell based on the principle of buoyancy and material mechanics. The improved design includes the use of high-strength and low-density materials, as well as the optimization of the structural design of the buoyancy device. The feasibility and effectiveness of the improved design have been verified through simulation experiments and field tests. The results show that the improved buoyancy device can effectively enhance the buoyancy of the open diving bell and improve the safety of personnel in emergency situations.
